Wesenseghed Hagos is an Eritrean lawyer and activist, who served as a Legal Adviser at the Ministry of Internal Affairs and in the Department of Human Resource Development at the Ministry of Justice in Eritrea. He is actively engaged in advocating for the promotion of human rights and respect for the rule of law in Eritrea. He is a regular contributor of media articles and presents a weekly radio program aimed at raising broader awareness pertaining to the on-going situation of gross human rights violations in in Eritrea. He comes with a proven professional and academic background in the area of international law, international relations and development studies.
He obtained his Master of Laws (LLM) in International Trade Law from the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa, in 2003. He has also successfully completed various modules and courses in Conflict Resolution and Global Studies offered by the University of Gothenburg. Currently he serves as an independent consultant in law and development, and as a study-guide in Språkcentrum in Gothenburg. Wesenseghed is a founding member of the Eritrean Law Society (ELS) and was elected as Treasurer of ELS in March 2017.
